Conference Focuses on Helping Small Business Grow Customer Base
WASHINGTON - The 2nd Annual Small Business Resource Conference and Expo, sponsored by Congressman Lee Terry, 2nd District of Nebraska, to be held October 17th, 2008 at the Scott Conference Center located at 6450 Pine Street Omaha, NE 68106 on the South Campus of the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO).
Moderated by the Nebraska Business Development Center, this year’s conference and expo is giving Nebraska small businesses innovative and practical ways to grow and market their business during challenging times. The first part of the day will focus on procurement opportunities. Government procurement buyers from state, local, federal agencies in the region will participate as exhibitors and as one-on one counselors. Small businesses owned by ethnic minorities, veterans, and women can learn about special programs designed to provide better access to the government marketplace. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn how to access and grow overseas markets for their products and services. One of the highlights of the day will be the participation of representatives from Google on a panel discussing how you can grow your business online.
The keynote speaker will be Janell Anderson Ehrke, founder and CEO of GROW Nebraska™. GROW Nebraska™ is a non-profit organization, whose mission is focused on maximizing Nebraska's entrepreneurial spirit and on building Nebraska businesses globally through marketing, education, business building services and access to markets.
Participation in the Small Business Resource Conference and Expo is free, but space is limited. Lunch can be purchased from the Scott Conference Center for $7.00 the day of the event. Register today by contacting Congressman Terry's office at (402) 397-9944.
