Marketer Shares Tips for Podcasting Success at MarkeTech

Podcasts are becoming an increasing popular marketing tool, and one successful podcast creator will share her secrets to success at GROW Nebraska’s MarkeTech Conference April 15 in Kearney.

Taylor Rennick, client success manager and inbound marketing strategist for Builder Funnel, will present “How Creating a Podcast Led to a World of Opportunity (and Revenue!)” at one of the conference’s breakout sessions.

Builder Funnel is a successful marketing agency that specializes in serving clients who own home- building and remodeling companies. The Colorado-based company serves clients with inbound marketing services that include everything from social media to SEO to email marketing and website design. As part of their services, they create podcasts to keep clients up to date on home-builder marketing and to provide tips and advice to help clients grow their businesses.

Rennick hosts “The Construction Cut,” a Builder Funnel podcast that debuted in January 2019. The podcast has been downloaded nearly 50,000 times.

“What we’ve tried to do is give out real, tangible advice that our listeners can incorporate into their own companies marketing and sales strategy,” Rennick said. “Our podcast tries to be as educational as possible – so having concrete tips and advice for our audience is vital to us – and I believe a key reason why it’s growing so rapidly.”

Podcasts are an important part of Builder Funnel’s marketing strategy. The company uses the inbound marketing methodology, which emphasizes educating leads with content pages, blogs, premium content offers, etc.

“The podcast is great because it places an emphasis on education and features a rotating group of guests with tons of experience in this field,” Rennick said. “We’re also making great industry connections, which raises brand awareness and places us as a thought leader in our vertical.”

In her MarkeTech presentation, Rennick will share:

  • How Builder Funnel grew revenue and brand awareness with podcasting
  • How businesses can build their brands with audio
  • How businesses can leverage the power of podcasting to grow their brand, personal, or otherwise
  • How to start a podcast

Rennick said the only technology needed to start a podcast is a microphone and a computer.

“Podcasts can be anything from long-form investigations to dating advice, and provide a great way to reach your audience all over the world,” Rennick said. “If you’re providing valuable information or entertainment that people want, you’ll find an audience.”

Along with hosting ‘The Construction Cut’ podcast, Rennick also supports the Builder Funnel Radio podcast via email marketing. She has been with Builder Funnel for three years, starting as a content writer and then becoming a digital marketing strategist before moving into her current position. Prior to Builder Funnel, she worked as an account manager at a web-hosting agency and in sales and marketing for Hilton hotels. She has a master’s degree in strategic communication from Washington State University and now works remotely for Builder Funnel from her home in Baltimore.

Early bird registration for the MarkeTech conference ends on March 20. The price is $99 for a half day and $199 for the entire day for non-GROW members and $59 for GROW Nebraska members.
