NSBAA Program News as of 4/9/25 @ 12:07pm, CST.
New Application Portal Closed
March 31st Program New Application Reopening. Consistent with Wednesday's website postings (https://grownebraska.org/nebraska-small-business-assistance-act/) the Program reopened on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Noon Central Time to receive new applications. By 12:23 PM Central Time 281 new applications were received before the portal could be closed. All 281 new applications were “time stamped” and new applications will be processed based on a “first” in basis employing the new application time stamp starting with the first 61 applications.
First 61 Applications. Consistent with our Wednesday website posting (https://grownebraska.org/nebraska-small-business-assistance-act/) the Program has decided to prioritize the first 61 applications based on the new application time stamp. If you are among the first 61 new applicants, you will be receiving a direct communication you are in this first group. Your application is now being assigned to screening staff for initial processing.
Next 220 Applications. The Program has decided to process all applications received on March 31st before the portal was closed. If you are applicant 62 through 281 based on the time stamp of your application on March 31st you will be processed on a first in basis once the first 61 applications are reviewed and assistance determined.
Future Program Funding. At this time the Nebraska Small Business Assistance Act and Program have been recommended by the Governor for termination and defunding. It will likely be mid-June before a final decision on whether this Program continues into the future by the Nebraska Legislature.
Future New Application Opportunities. Based on available funding we do not anticipate another round of new applications in 2025. However, that could change based on how the current 281 new applications are processed and the amount of awards. Stay tuned to our Wednesday website postings for updates… https://grownebraska.org/nebraska-small-business-assistance-act/.
